Love Letters and Strangers–A Sentence That Matters

People have good days and bad days. Imagine today being your bad day. You wake up, not feeling well, got in a fight with your family, and you have to go to work or school. You walk into your office for work or the building of your school and someone walks up to you and says, “Good Morning!” The simple phrase of “Good Morning!” brightened your day and put a big smile on your face. That simple, 2-word sentence, changed your day and can change others.

Having someone who cares and thinks about you all the time can make someone feel appreciated and loved. Getting a letter, that is handwritten by someone, is a reflection on how someone cares and thinks about you. The person could simply text you, call you, or even email you, but they decided to write to you. They used ink and a piece of paper to send their feelings to you. Because of this letter, it shows how much someone cares about you and loves you.

Making someone else feel great can make yourself even better. You do not always have to feel great about yourself and only care about yourself. When you boost other’s confidence and their respect for themselves, it can not only make them feel better, but make yourself feel great. When I see someone struggling or not having a good day, I know I can try to at least make someone’s day better by saying something to the person to brighten their day.

So, the next time you see someone struggling, try to make them feel better. If they are a quiet person and they do not like to talk, write them a letter. If they are someone who you talk to, why not say a quick sentence saying to them, “Good morning!” or even “Ready for today?” That one sentence to someone can change their entire aspect on their day and their life.
