Life…In an Instant (11/22/19)

Ric Elias had a front-row seat on Flight 1549, the plane that crash-landed in the Hudson River in New York in January 2009. What went through his mind as the doomed plane went down? –Ted Talks

In the video we are watching today, Ric Elias shares his thoughts and feelings about coming face-to-face with his possible demise.  He speaks about the regrets that went through his mind as the plane was hurtling towards the river, and, then ultimately, how he decided to live his life once that life was safely placed back in his own hands.

It begs the question: Why do we wait until disaster strikes to take a hard look at who we are or who we’ve become?  How can we live a life without regrets and be the best version of ourselves?  I think it’s difficult to do.  Many of us live our lives each day concerned about what others think of us.  We have this notion that we have all the time in the world to correct our behavior, improve upon our character…but what if we don’t? What if today is all we have?  Who do you want to be? And I mean that it the most sincere, truthful and authentic way…who do you want to be?
