In the clip we are watching today, Chris Gardner is offered the sole position at his brokerage firm after months of living homeless and struggling through a grueling internship.

Through commercials, magazine ads, movies, television, and, perhaps most of all, reality television, the media seems to be the driving force in determining what will make you happy.  So many people decide their happiness based on the “stuff” they have…the latest smart phone, the nicest clothes, the designer handbag, the most expensive car.

How do you define happiness?  Do you believe that happiness is the result of a process in which your decisions lead you down a specific path, or do you think finding happiness is a series of lucky events?  Do we make our own happiness, and if so, how have you accomplished this?  Does our happiness define who we are?
